Maharashtra Rent Agreement Stamp Duty Calculation Formula
Under Article 36A of the Maharashtra Stamp Act, stamp duty on a leave and license agreement is calculated at 0.25% of the total rent consideration plus non-refundable deposit plus 10% of refundable deposit calculated per year:
- Government Registration Fee: Flat ₹1,000 for urban municipal corporation areas (PMC / PCMC); ₹500 for rural areas.
- Stamp Duty: Calculated on aggregate financial consideration over the tenancy period.
